Kuba Cafe opened in June 2017 and began serving on the streets of Jersey City. Since then, Chef Porraspita has been passionately serving his Abuela's authentic Cuban recipes to hungry patrons all over New Jersey through festivals and private bookings.   For Chef Porraspita, becoming a food truck owner has been over ten years in the making. He and his talented wife, Rachel Porraspita are excited to partner together in bringing this dream to life with the support of ALL of you.  

Chef Porraspita's inspiration for the Cuban recipes Kuba Cafe serves are embedded in the childhood memories Chef has cooking with his Abuela.  However, previously serving as an Executive Chef in both Middlesex County and New York City, he's assisted in opening many trendy restaurants where he was given countless opportunities to work with a wide span of ethnic cuisines. He has breathed new life into faltering restaurants and even opened new establishments from scratch...

Now, it’s his turn to bring that same level of ingenuity and expertise to his own business and culture! 

Kuba Cafe's bold and colorful exterior artwork was designed and hand-drawn by the award-winning “Swerve” who's graffiti and artistic abilities have graced the memorable train cars of the 80's. This Cuban Eatery on wheels offers the ability for passers-by to revel in the audacious yet attractive details of a design conceptualized exclusively for Kuba Cafe.
